What is
TRUD™?

TRUD™ is a white enema bottle containing a thick suspension that includes sodium hyaluronate and is used to relieve the symptoms of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a disease of the colon and rectum in which the mucosal lining becomes inflamed.

how does TRUD™ work?

TRUD™ contains two specific types of Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) and a natural muco-adhesive agent for prolonged adherence to the mucosa. Its effectiveness in treating mild to moderate Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is attributed to two key properties related to the size of Sodium Hyaluronate:

Low Molecular Weight Sodium Hyaluronate: This smaller-sized form enhances the healing rate of the affected region in the colon through epithelial restitution, aiding recovery at the muscosal level which is affected by UC.

High Molecular Weight Sodium Hyaluronate: This larger-sized form adheres to inflamed areas, protecting them from bacteria and toxins during healing, reducing further inflammation.
